The Changing Canopies
The trek starts with a rocky trail from Pantwari village but quickly transitions into dense enchanting forests of Oak, Rhododendron and Deodar. In the spring (March–April) the forest floor turns a crimson as the Rhododendron blooms.

3. Season Guide: When to Plan Your Journey
| Season | Months | What Makes it Special |
| Winter (Snow Trek) | December to February | The entire trail and campsites are buried under heavy sheets of snow. The temperature drops below freezing at night, offering a thrilling alpine camping experience. |
| Spring & Summer | March to June | Crisp mountain air, pleasantly warm days, and clear skies that guarantee perfect peak views. The forests are fully alive and green. |
| Autumn | October to November | Post-monsoon, the atmosphere is exceptionally sharp and dust-free, offering the absolute best visibility for long-distance Himalayan photography. |
Avoid Monsoon (July to September): The roads from Dehradun to Pantwari are highly prone to landslides. The forest trails become muddy, slippery and full of leeches.

5. Insider Pro-Tips for Trekkers
Footwear Matters: Even though it is a beginner- trek the final summit push can have slippery loose gravel (or hard ice/snow in winter). Avoid soled sneakers; wear proper trekking shoes with deep groove patterns for Nag Tibba.
Water Availability: Water sources are extremely scarce on the trail. Carry least two reusable 1-liter water bottles per person. You can refill them at a couple of springs near the base camp area of Nag Tibba.
Pack Warm Layers: Because of the open valley winds temperatures at the base camp drop after sunset even in May and June. A windcheater, a fleece jacket and thermal innerwear are mandatory for Nag Tibba.
